Trumpet & Tractors

This week I've been listening to alot of trumpet noise, Caleb has been practicing "America the Beautiful" all week. Alot of the times he is hitting the right notes but when he hits the wrong ones watch out for your ears. He is supposed to play in the parade on Saturday with his school. The one benefit of playing the trumpet is that Wayne can help him out with his notes & music and I beat out the notes on the piano but it is just not the same. I'm excited that Caleb has the opportunity to play in the parade but I get so tired of this long parade. It is a local festival parade that literally goes for 11/2 - 2 hours, every antique tractor that can be found in the barns surrounding the area enters in the parade. The problem is that we've attended the parade for the past several years and not much changes. On the positive note of the festival is that we will be attending the truck and tractor pulls that take place tonight and tomorrow evening. My favorite is the alcohol burning tractors because they can really light up the night sky with the flames shooting out of their pipes (for lack of a more technical term) and of course all of the excitement that comes along with the trucks and tractors making a full pull.
